OxCEPT, Ripon College, Cuddesdon

Dr Cathy Ross

Dr Cathy Ross is the Director of OxCEPT at Cuddesdon. Cathy will oversee the church planting case study sub-strand of the research programme. She comes from Aotearoa, New Zealand where she completed an MA in French and German from Auckland University before studying at All Nations Christian College in UK. Cathy has worked in Rwanda, Congo and Uganda as a mission partner with NZCMS. From 1998 - 2005 she worked at the Bible College of New Zealand as the Director of its School of Global Mission. After that she managed the Crowther Centre for Mission Education at CMS for five years and was the J V Taylor Fellow of Missiology at Regent’s Park College.

Some of her publications include: Mission in the 21st Century: Exploring the Five Marks of Global Mission, (London:DLT, 2008), Mission in Context, Explorations Inspired by J Andrew Kirk, (Surrey:Ashgate, 2012) and Life-Widening Mission, Anglican Global Perspectives (Oxford:Regnum, 2012). She is General Secretary of the International Association for Mission Studies, Chair of the British and Irish Association for Mission Studies (BIAMS), Chair of the Global Connections ‘Thinking Mission Forum’, a member of the Oxford Diocesan Council for Partnership in World Mission, a Council member for All Nations Christian College, and editor of Anvil, an Anglican journal of theology and mission. Cathy chairs the Advisory Group for Pioneer Leadership Training at CMS. Her current research is looking at hospitality as a metaphor for mission. She is currently a Tutor in Contextual Theology at Ripon College Cuddesdon and Lecturer in Mission at Regent's Park College, Oxford.

The Reverend David Dadswell

The Reverend David Dadswell will carry out most of the case study research on church planting. David has been consulting with commercial, public and voluntary organisations for over fifteen years. He holds degrees from Oxford and Brunel Universities. Ordained in 1983, he served in a team ministry in Liverpool and as chaplain at Brunel University. He joined Macdonald Associates Consultancy in 1996 as General Manager and then Chief Operating Officer, Director and Principal. Subsequently he has worked as a consultant specialising in organisational behaviour with commercial concerns such as utilities, pharmaceuticals and financial institutions; public bodies such as universities, schools and local authorities and voluntary organisations such as local and national churches, mental health charities and housing associations. He has worked in organisations in USA, Canada, Australia, Russia, Thailand, New Zealand and the United Kingdom. Since 2009, he has been Director of Systems Leadership Consulting Ltd. He is a tutor on the MA in Consultancy for Mission and Ministry at the York Institute for Community Theology at York St John University and Principal Consultant of the Oxford Centre for Ecclesiology and Practical Theology. His book Consultancy Skills for Mission and Ministry was published in November 2011 by SCM. He is an associate priest in the New Windsor Team Ministry in Windsor.
